About Spokes and Laces
Jon Clements
Spokes and Laces was established in early 2023 as a result of a passion to help provide individuals, families in the local community with opportunities to lead active lifestyles.
With a university education in genetics - specialising in both the medical and sporting aspects, nearly 20 years experience as a secondary Biology teacher, and being a keen runner and cyclist I can offer a professional service that has Spokes and Laces' 3 values at its core: inclusivity, challenge and sustainability.
As well as academic and teaching qualifications, I hold the Leader in Running Fitness, Level 1 Cycling Coach, Level 1 British Triathlon Coach, Wattbike AtomX Education and Remote First Aid qualifications. I continue to develop through further training to ensure my practice is up to date, evidence-informed and person-centred.
Spokes and Laces also builds further on the community and relationships developed through the work of Barn Cyclery, my first business which I set up in 2020 having qualified as a Cytech Level 2 mechanic.
Whilst my work life is split between teaching, Barn Cyclery, and Spokes and Laces, my family life is spent between Kidderminster with my son, Lukas, and in Audlem with my partner, Rachel, and her children, Poppy and Archie. As a small, independent business, they all help run, support and shape 'what we do'.

Sue Satchi
I am passionate about my family, being active and protecting our precious planet. After a poor experience of PE at school I realised at university that it wasn't just about keeping fit - it was about being outdoors and making amazing friends as well as finding something to balance the pressures of daily life. Like most people I have had phases of my life where other stuff has been a priority (young children, work, health issues and just day to day stuff). Whenever I have lost the balance I have turned to sport to help me and it always has! I have been a rower for many years but took up road cycling in lockdown and met a whole herd of new friends ( including Jon!) and am currently loving everything about it: the health benefits (both physical and mental wellbeing), nature, social life, community and a huge variety of different events and opportunities. I am so pleased to join the Spokes and Laces family and love the values they hold.
